Generic Avodart (dutasteride) is a prescribed medicine to treat an
enlarged prostate. This condition is known medically as benign
prostatic hyperplasia, benign prostatic hypertrophy, or BPH. A prescription is required to buy Avodart
What is BPH?
The prostate gland is located below the bladder. An enlarged prostate is a condition where the prostate begins growing during teenage years and carries on to grow during most of adulthood. More often than not, this is not a problem until men reach their 50s or 60s. When the prostate becomes too large, it can obstruct urination. Some of the BPH symptoms may contain: frequent urination (which is especially noticeable at night), pain in urinating, and other problems.
Enlarged prostate can be detected by the digital rectal exam. During a digital rectal exam, the doctor inserts a gloved finger into the rectum to feel the size and shape of the prostate. Some men can have a BPH analysis without having any symptoms.
BPH can be treated by medication and surgery. Generic Avodart is one of the medications used for the treatment of BPH.
